Stunning #MilesDavis session and the new #TheWho album signed by Mr Townshend @yaggerdang at our brilliant local record shop @sleeve_notes_records (I turned up early this morning to bag a copy). Both recommended. I cannot believe how good the Miles Davis is, in fact, previously only available on CD on the Complete In A Silent Way Sessions - which I may have to get now… #music #jazz #rock

So I have been very bad. I have been going to this place since I worked in the area back in 2001 or 2002, but @camdenlockbooks is closing their Old Street Station shop after two decades or so and everything is 71% off. Including all their #ECMrecords CDs. So I cleaned them out of stock. Amazing: they are so expensive normally and so good. Banging night at @thejazzcafe seeing @bluelab_beats bring down the house with a recreation and a celebration of #Guru’s #Jazzmatazz, nearly overshadowed by their own first set of utter brilliance. Jazzmatazz remains one of the great artistic statements of 90s hip-hop, evidenced by the fact that the majority of the audience could not have possibly heard it first time round, let alone half the performers! #jazz #hiphop #gangstarr

Waiting a long time to see The Dan but totally worth it. Too musically complex for most crowds but there’s no arguing with the guitar lines and melodies. Amazing. Was hooked by the second song I heard of theirs, #Peg, when I was around 18-19, and that was it. Any time you read a list of ‘XXX Greatest Evah,’ just find out if they ever played in the #SteelyDan band. If not, they probably don’t belong in the list. #bluesfest #jazz #RIPWalterBecker
